TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY

I cannot believe a whole year has gone by.  We have enjoyed many firsts, the best one is being a gramma for the first time.  I am grateful for all the moments I shared with Alexis and will treasure those moments always.  We are truly blessed.

G-NINNIE WEDNESDAY

As you already know - this is my favorite day of the week.  We love to get out in the neighborhood whenever the weather is nice.  So glad there is a park so close to home, just right for a nice walk.  Alexis and I love to go play and just hang out there.  We like watching the kids come out and play in the park.

G-NINNIE WEDNESDAY

I have been looking forward to seeing Alexis since last week.  It seems like it was longer than a week.  It turned out to be a very emotional day.  I had only been at the house for a short time when Alexis and I decided to sit on the kitchen floor and play with the refrigerator magnets.  When all of a sudden, Alexis decided that Joey's toy which was tied to the kitchen chair was much more interesting.  Before I knew it, she grabbed the cat toy and the chair came tumbling down on top of Alexis.  I saw it coming and broke the fall with my hand, but the chair still landed on top of Alexis, hitting her right in the middle of her forehead, right between her eyes.  To make a long story short with the help of the advice nurse, we don't think it hit her hard enough to cause a concussion, but she is being watched very closely.

The emotional part was me because I felt horrible and blamed myself for letting it happen.  So far there is just a small bruise.   I know all children get lots of bumps and bruises, but please not on my watch.  Alexis on the other hand is resiliant as all children are and I know in my heart she will bounce back like a champ!

G-NINNIE WEDNESDAY

Good morning!  It's G-Ninnie Wednesday, my favorite day of the week.  Today, Papa Jay drove me out to Troutdale because the roads are icy and he wanted to make sure I got there safely.

Alexis and I were glad that Papa Jay stayed for the entire day to play.  He built us a nice fire in the fireplace so we were nice and toasty warm all day.

Here she is, bright eyes and all.  She kept me hopping all day as she crawled around and got into all the toys.  What a fun day!

Jay and I were invited over to the other Tulls to watch the University of Oregon compete against Auburn for the BCS Championship in football.  Since we don't get ESPN on our tv, we decided, yes, that would be fun.  As much as I love the University of Oregon, football and tv, I must say, it was a wonderful excuse to spend more time with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

Even though University of Oregon put up a great fight, it was a great game, but Auburn pulled through and won.  As a native Oregonian, I was very proud of the ducks.

G-NINNIE WEDNESDAY

 Good morning world!  My G-Ninnie is here, it must be Wednesday.

 Alexis is on the move and she sure looks like she is going to be getting into trouble!

Alexis hears Joey from outside the front door.  She must be done chasing all the squirrels, mice and birds.  Good thing she cannot reach the door handle yet.

I am the luckiest gramma - I have seen Alexis on Monday, Tuesday and now today, Wednesday this week.  We had a great day and played so hard that Alexis took a couple really long naps today.

• We celebrated Jay's birthday in Crescent, Oregon

• We had the opportunity to watch Andi play in a regional tennis tournament in Sunriver, Oregon
• Caught a fish in Miller Lake

September

• My daughter, Andrea married Clark, and it was a beautiful wedding

October

• Birthday road trip with my sister, Carol to Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Centralia and Vancouver, Washington
• Alexis' first Halloween, dressed as a cute giraffe

November

• First Thanksgiving that we didn't have the entire family here

• We have a new grand dog, Sally
• Alexis celebrated her first Christmas
